Mr Mechanic and I just returned from a long weekend in Zanzibar. Is 5 days technically a ‘long weekend’??? To our credit, there was a national holiday on Monday.
We had some official paperwork/appointment for Little Lion which we had to attend in person in Dar es Salaam, so we decided to make a holiday of it!
I didn’t want to do the whole shopping scene in the big city with a little baby, so we decided to have minimal time in Dar and maximize our stay on Unguja Island, Zanzibar.
We stayed at some lovely hotels, gorged ourselves on fresh seafood, enjoyed the water, and Mr Mechanic and I took turns sleeping in while the other watched Little Lion. He’s a cheerful early riser, so someone had to get up and supervise him as he’s started running.
I swear that child doesn’t walk, he just jogs as soon as his little feet touch something solid!
We all, including Little Lion, had a fabulous time.
